Assisted Living Facilities in Kentucky are Social Models and as such are certified to provide housing and services that are not considered health or medical services for senior adults. To be eligible the resident must be ambulatory or mobile non-ambulatory (move about with an assistive device, but without help from another person) and not be a danger (to oneself or others).
Affordable independent living is designed for senior adults to live comfortably in safe and secure setting. Eligibility for these living units is based on age and income. One must (with few exceptions) be age 62 and their income must not be greater than 50% of the median income for the Lexington Fair Market Rent Area.
